Simplified Clinical Expands Data Interoperability With The Release of its Universal Data Integration Gateway (UDIG)
Accelerates Automated Subject Data Collection, Getting Closer to Zero Data Entry™
Portsmouth, NH – 07/25/2024 – Simplified Clinical is proud to announce an expansion of its utilization of industry standard FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) interoperability standard, just announced in early June 2024. The newly released Universal Data Integration Gateway (UDIG) extends beyond FHIR, enabling seamless data exchange between Simplified Clinical’s EDC (Electronic Data Capture) system and other healthcare IT systems. This positions Simplified Clinical as the leading EDC system capable of extensive interoperability, revolutionizing data integration in clinical trials and driving closer to their mission of Zero Data Entry (ZDE)™.
The current method of manual abstraction of data from electronic health records is inefficient, costly, and an error prone process especially in complex therapeutic areas such as oncology, cardiology and pediatric studies. Within multi-institutional databases, this is even more impactful in achieving more efficient and accurate data transfers. By reducing administrative burden on health workers (doctors, nurses), offering sites a near zero data entry system, sponsors can attract the best Investigators and sites to participate in their clinical research efforts.
“With this enhancement, Simplified Clinical continues to drive innovation in clinical trial technology, offering unparalleled support and functionality to healthcare organizations worldwide,” stated John Schwope, CEO, Simplified Clinical. “The expanded interoperability ensures that data from various healthcare systems can be integrated smoothly, providing comprehensive view of clinical trial data.”
